Contractor's Remodel Your Marketing Now, and You'll Grow in This Recession!

1. Do I need an Office or Showroom? If you can afford it, Yes. The Contractors that do the best in Recessions are the ones who look, and are dependable. Look it up, the facts prove this every time. Homeowners are as worried about losing money to fly-by-night contractors as saving money, don't think so ask a few.

2. This recessions different: all the noise about homeowners that can't move remodeling their house is not true this time. Consumers are scared right now, and loans are hard to get. Just ask yourself; are you driving around thinking wow this economy is terrible, my home is losing value every month. I think I'll invest some money in Home Improvements.

3. Craigslist: Make sure your not competing with your own crews. Let your people know if they advertise for side jobs on weekends, you won't compete with them for work, and they won't have a job with you!

4. Google: Homeowners don't look for your business until they need you. When they do, you had better be right in front of them. Google can do that for you better than anyone on the planet can now. A click is a lot cheaper than an ad in the paper, or a drive across town. Google means search now in America. AdWords work start today.

5. Advertising: There is endless data out there that will tell you to keep advertising in a Recession; you will get work while your competitors are hiding. Think about it one job can lead to all kinds of work if you're using Yard signs, Door Hangers, and getting referrals from the homeowners neighbors. Use your Imagination; if you're not getting referrals from every job, you're not trying hard enough.

6. Your advertisers: Be proactive call them right now! Renegotiate with everyone you pay to advertise your business. They're all choking right now too! It's your turn, let them know what you can afford to pay. No contracts and no down payments, no promises.

7. EXECUTE: now on everything, don't wait for things to get worse. They will. We have a long way to go in this recession. Get in front of your business do not follow it around now, it will run over you.

8. Fix Your Website: It's usually your first contact with Homeowners and consumers in the 21st Century. Make your phone number Large, put the logos of the products you sell on your Landing page, take the little 2167 visits sign off now! That's embarrassing you should get that many hits a week, not in 5 years. Web designers are not marketers, they couldn't sell Beer on Troop Ship! Get involved in the design of your website.

9. CO-OP Advertising, call everyone you work with, (the logos on your site) tell them you need help with your advertising. They will help. If your business sucks so does theirs.

10. Don't tell people what your competitors are doing wrong. Tell them what you do right. When homeowners bring up the name of a competitor, simply say they're a good company. Then tell them you're a Great Company! This works try it.
